To charge a dead car battery, pop the hood of your vehicle. Connect end of the red positive jumper cable to the dead battery, then connect the other end to the charged battery.

Then, connect end of the negative jumper cable to the black negative terminal on the charged battery and attach the other end to a grounded metal component on the car with the dead battery.
